My dear seeds,
We are in China and they explained to me that an emperor lived, he was very big and very important. He was given 55 porcelain vases, the finest, the most delicate, with wonderful drawings: almond trees in bloom, cranes, wonderful landscapes, bonsai, mountains.
That collection of 55 vases was so beautiful that the emperor said: Make a piece of transparent glass so that it is protected and can be admired without breaking any!
So he thought:
Who will be able to take care of it? Who can watch it? Who will be aware of this beautiful jewel?
I'm going to ask for a Mandarin, so he made a call and the Mandarin showed up and said:
I'll make you a contract, you'll be very well paid, but you have to watch the 55 vases, that no one gets close, that no one touches them and that no one breaks them. If a vase breaks, I'll cut your head off.
The mandarin said: Yes, my emperor, I will take care of myself. Time passed and without meaning to, while the mandarin cleaned the dust, a vase fell. The emperor found out and came and cut off his head. Everyone was speechless. Without saying anything, but how is it possible? And the emperor said:
We have to find another Mandarin. And they searched and it came. When the Mandarin arrived, he said the same thing:
Don't let any of them break because if you don't I'll cut off your head. And he was so careful that not even the air got through, and when he spoke, he always spoke outside the room where the vases were so that the breath couldn't get in and break one.
Chance of chance tripped and another vase fell and broke. And the same thing happened with the first mandarin, the emperor cut off his head. And then he said: I need another guardian. A wise man found out and said: How interesting! I would like to see those vases, if they are so beautiful. And they said to him:
But where is he going?! You are 80 years old! Why don't you live in peace and live happily? He is 80 years old! And he said: Well, I'm 80 years old, but if they cut off my head I won't have lost much because 80 years are already years. So I won't lose much, I'm going.
He introduced himself and they accepted him. The emperor said to him: I will cut off your head if another one breaks! And he looked at him with a smile and said: My emperor, I am 80 years old, what can I expect? I'm happy! So happy! He made him a contract and there he stayed.
The first thing the sage did: he took a very thick, very thick piece of wood and then he began to glue it to the vases. Pim pum pim pum pim pum! And he broke all 53 vases.
He broke them all.
Running they went and said to him: Emperor, Emperor! The sage has broken all the vases! And the emperor went crazy, he went crazy! And he came and said: Fool! What have you done?
And he replied:
My emperor, I have saved 53 lives, that's 53 lives, you will not have to cut off their heads. There are so many things, many more important. There are so many things worth looking at, admiring and experiencing than cutting heads! Or take care of treasures that will be of no use to you when you are gone.
Why not give importance to what has value? Why not acknowledge the humans who have given him so much and who will continue to serve him on their knees?
The emperor was so surprised, he bowed his head and left. The sage continued to smile, looked again at all the broken vases, turned around and left and continued on his way to be happy, to appreciate life, to know that he was 80 years old but that he could give many things of himself, that could help and that his time had not come. But he had saved 53 lives.
What do you think, my seeds? Isn't that enough to ponder? And say: Instead of thinking I have already called death! Or, I already wanted to die! Or I have thought many times that if I died I would be better off.
Don't you think that what remains of your life you have a lot to discover? And to give and to know and that they give you. I have sent you a photograph of a Mexican lady. She is 103 years old, before I said 101. 101, 103, at that age. But she was always used to the fact that to eat she needed half a glass of wine and her children told her: No mom, no mother, it's not good for you and we won't give it to you and we don't have to spend on wine.
Then she got up and went to several factories, to companies and said: Please, I'm here to ask for a job, and they told her: Ma'am, at your age? Because they made her fill out her sheet. And when they saw how old she was, they told her:
We can't give her a job! It is impossible!
- But, please, give me a job.
- We can give you a handout.
- I do not want it! I want to earn my money to buy my half glass of wine every day because it is my pleasure, it is my pleasure. And my children deny it to me. I only ask for a job, I don't ask for alms or ask for money, I want to work and earn it.
So they told the head of the company, it's a true story, I sent you the photo. And he accepted her and made her a work contract so that she would buy her little bottle of wine.
There was a winemaker who gave him, I don't know how many, bottles of wine so that he would have the whole year. Her small glass of wine to eat was her satisfaction, her happiness and her life.
So don't think: I'd rather be dead! Until the time comes we cannot die.
If Marie Curie or Pier Curie or Einstein had thought of it, then we would not know the Universe or all the Nobel Prize winners. So if you have that thought, you are not worth it, you really are not worth it. If you live, every day be conscious and give thanks to God because life, today in Ukraine has a very steep price, but for the neighboring country life is simply goodbye.
With all my love,
Your Jardinera.
