In Japan, my dear seeds, there are many zen masters or sensei, each one has a school.
And once the sensei said to his pupil: "let's go for a walk down Fuji mountain, and let's walk a little and breathe".
The sensei went for a walk and the pupil accompanied him, when they had been walking for a few kilometres, the sensei stopped, there was a very beautiful tree, he sat down and from his sack, all worn out, he took out a melon, he took the melon, cut it in half, and gave half to his pupil and half to himself.
The pupil took half of the melon, looked at it, looked at it and looked at the sensei very attentively, the sensei took it and began to eat his melon, it was a pleasant breeze, they were fine, and the Zen master appreciated very much that moment of rest after having walked a few kilometres, and savouring a sweet and pleasant melon.
The student said to him: "Teacher, what does it mean to cut the melon in two, half and half?
The sensei looked at him and didn't answer, then the pupil said, well, I'm getting closer to the truth.
"Teacher, what is more important, the taste of the melon, or the tongue that is tasting it?", the teacher looks at him and doesn't answer.
Then the student said: "oh, I am getting even closer to the truth, the master knows that I have discovered the secret and now he is going to tell me".
Then the student continued, "the tongue gives you love because you are tasting the sweetness of the melon and the melon is giving you the opportunity to share and the tongue is giving you the opportunity to speak."
Did I get it right, sensei?
And the pupil said, now you are going to tell me the secret and the mystery.
"It's that when you take us for a walk or talk to us or are in the dogo and teach us, you always make us ask questions, to find out, to investigate. Master! Where is the answer!"
And suddenly the master again looks at him and says,
"Stop it! Be quiet, fools only ask silly questions, there is not always an explanation to everything, it's a melon, it's a break, savour it and be quiet."
Take advantage of this moment, this instant and this silence, the pupil understood that by being too clever, next time he will think, before making a mistake.
My dear seeds, it is important to ask and to know, but there is not always an answer, because if you look for those answers you already have them within you. And if they are not given to you, then understand that there are none.
With all my love,
